The first thing I appreciated about Angie was her compassion and empathy in what we were going through. Next, I valued the way we were able to connect... her invitation to share in understanding just where we were at - and how we needed to move forward. Her wisdom, knowledge and expertise in this field truly is powerful. She gave us a starting line and also the fuel to tackle this marathon. While the learning curve has me utterly exhausted - I've never felt more prepared. With her guidance, something that once felt scary, now feels manageable AND even fun. But what warms my heart, is that I have a happy son. Truly - I believe I will be thanking her for the rest of my life for getting us on track!
Angie shared her knowledge of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet with me several years ago. She also shared her long journey, and pain, of living with Crohn’s. I opened up about my own digestive hurdles with IBS and she enthusiastically shared the book “Breaking the Vicious Cycle” as well as amazing recipes and abundant encouragement. I was hesitant to try the diet but after years of flare ups I decided to give it a try. The relief and energy I discovered soon changed my life, and my flare ups ceased!
A few years ago I confessed I had been cheating a bit on the diet, and although flare ups were not quite as persistent, I wanted to try again. Angie happily invited me to her home and walked me through making yogurt, opened her cupboards and fridge to share staple food choices, and more importantly offered support and encouragement to be well again. Today, the SCD way of eating is the foundational approach for me to feel balanced and healthy. With Angie’s expertise, compassion, and down to earth nature, I know her wisdom will help countless individuals find their way to feeling well again!
A lifestyle change focused around diet does NOT need to be overwhelming! Do yourself a favor and choose not to do this alone! Angie assisted me every step of the way and taught me that I CAN follow the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and that I do not have to miss out on fine dining, chicken pot pie, pizza, ranch dressing, yogurt, ice cream, cookies, banana bread, toast, blueberry muffins... the list goes on! Her thoughtful instruction, delicious recipes, and plethora of cooking substitutes simplified the entire process and helped me achieve my health goals. Her depth of knowledge is beyond impressive and she assisted me with not only changing my diet, but with cleansing, colonoscopy prep, and supplement recommendations. Angie taught me that clean eating does not need to result in the feeling of deprivation; in fact, it's quite the opposite! Her simple approach and meal planing system works, and I owe my success to her!
